Hurricane Harness ®, “Seat Belts for Your Roof” is the first positive hurricane building protection system engineered to prevent roof loss to various type roof systems in extreme winds. The diagram on the left clearly illustrates the wind's travel motion as it passes over the roof, the vacuum or suction is produced to the right of the roof structure. Inadequate window protection raises the risk of “ Wind Capture” within the buildings envelope, increasing the push, pull  uplift to the roof in extreme winds.

The Hurricane Harness ® system is designed to counteract this uplift force through the use of extremely high strength, low stretch straps that are applied over the roof’s structure and fastened to ratchets and foundation anchors and tightened. The tension applied through the straps by the ratchets maintain a positive force to counteract the negative force developed in high wind storms.

Most importantly, the system’s design makes it easy for a homeowner or a skilled contractor to easily install at an affordable price.

The System

The anchor attaches to the concrete slab with stainless steel bolts set in epoxy.	The special tightening buckle is a Hurricane Harness® exclusive.
Untrained homeowners can install the system easily in minutes.	High strength, low-stretch straps have been created to maintain 1000 lbs of tension.
